The mission of Building Bright Futures of Chittenden County is to enhance the ability of families and communities to protect, nurture, educate and support the development of their children and to recognize and support parents as their child’s first and most important teacher.  To fulfill this mission, Building Bright Futures of Chittenden County has two main goals:

1. ALL children will be healthy “active” learners when they enter school.
2. ALL families will have access to information and community services to support them in their role as a child’s first and most important teacher.

Activities sponsored by Building Bright Futures of Chittenden County are open to all families of Chittenden County with children ages birth to six, and are free of charge.

Building Bright Futures of Chittenden County addresses the following VERMONT OUTCOMES

• OUTCOME 1.   Families, Youth  & Individuals are Engaged in and Contribute to their                        Community’s Decisions and Activities.
• OUTCOME 2.   Pregnant Women and Young Children Thrive
• OUTCOME 3.   Children are Ready for School
• OUTCOME 5.   Children Live in Stable, Supported Families
• OUTCOME 10. Communities Provide Safety and Support for Families and Individuals
